Focus on the Right Stuff
Don’t love money; be satisfied with what you have. For God has said, “I will never fail you. I will never abandon you.” Hebrews 13:5 NLT
I spent too many years hating money – hating the need for money. I know God’s promises on the provision, but still, the need to feel “secure” overshadowed his promises. God would display a miracle after miracle for me to see. He would speak of how he wanted to be my source. Even then, somehow I would still cringe on payday. I dreaded watching money fly away and not be there for what I felt we needed. What a miserable way to live! Especially when we don’t have to live from this perspective. Finally, over time, God’s promises began to take hold. I didn’t hate money so much (or the need for it). I started living life, aware that I am NOT without. I have EVERYTHING I need and even more than I need.
Once this perspective came… Fear left!
I could now give and not see it as a loss. I paid bills and trusted God when the numbers weren’t in my favor. And Never has the Lord failed me or abandoned me. Live your life free of fear too! Not only concerning money but everything. God has promised us we can live free from the world’s perspective altogether. Adam and Eve came into this world with God’s pure perspective on life. No fear, shame, anxiety, hurt…. whatever. The world’s perspective pollutes this beautiful perspective and convinces us we have reason to fear.
Pray today for God to change your perspective in life!
Lord, I am so thankful that you walk alongside us, coaching us constantly. You never leave us or abandon us…. even though we deserve it. Thank you for helping us see life from your eyes. Knowing we have a source that is faithful to supply all of our needs. We trust in you alone even when the numbers don’t add up. Thank you for your faithfulness even in our shortcomings.
